THE Four Principles for Mission Giving
- Principle #1....GOD IS THE OWNER OF ALL.
-
The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. (Ps 24:1)
Why is this principle important?
It gives significant meaning to what we do. We don't give just to 'avoid taxes.' Instead we want our planning process to be spiritual before it is mechanical. - Principle #2...THE ONLY VALUE OF ANYTHING IS THE ABILITY TO USE IT.
-
So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. (1 Cor 4:1-2)
Why is this principle important?
By understanding that usefulness determines value, then it becomes clear that by investing in missions we invest in that which has eternal value. - Principle #3...IF THE USE OF SOMETHING IS ITS ONLY TRUE VALUE, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AN UPPER LIMIT OF WHAT AN INDIVIDUAL CAN PERSONALLY USE.
-
So if you have not been trustworthy in haggling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? (Lk 16:11)
Why is this principle important?
Because every Christian has to answer two very important questions:1) How much can I personally use?
2) Why has God given me more than that?
- Principle #4...EVERYONE WITH WEALTH/EXTRA RESOURCES WILL MAKE A CHARITABLE GIFT ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.
-
Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. (Mt 22:21)
Money can only be transferred to one of three places: family or other individuals, government, or charity. The government has put a cap on the amount that can be transferred to individuals without either paying a tax or making a charitable gift. So, the issue is not whether we will make a charitable gift, but who is our charity of choice? To take money that would go to government and convert it to kingdom purposes adds a level of significance to the process. IIM would welcome your support to share the Gospel around the world.
IIM is a volunteer organization with everyone paying their own way. We need your help to provide on-site building materials, support for national pastors and missionaries, travel expenses, scholarships, and administrative costs.
You can give as:
- an individual
- church
- mission group/class
- company/business
One of the things IIM enjoys most is coordinating internships for young people feeling a call into missions. Your gifts make it possible to take them on the mission field as well as provide for the needs of national young people and children with special needs.
Gifts can be one time or periodic and can be designated for specific projects (i.e., help build a church, classrooms, medical facilities, or support national pastors). IIM is a 501c (3) non-profit organization and all gifts are tax deductible. Those interested in partnering financially with IIM can donate online using the PayPal link below, mail contributions to: International Impact Ministries, Post Office Box 9086, Dothan, AL 36304 or call 334-685-4128 for more information.
